The Community Foundation makes grants through both competitive and non-competitive grantmaking programs.

Non-competitive grantmaking programs have no application process.  The Community Foundation accepts recommendations year-round from fund advisors, who work with Foundation staff to ensure their granting has the greatest impact, based on their charitable interests.

Competitive grantmaking programs accept applications for funding and award grants on the basis of merit and compatibility with the goals of the program.  The following information applies only to competitive grantmaking programs.

Because the Foundation is nonsectarian, it does not support religious programming through competitive grants.  It does, however, support religious organizations serving the community through projects and programs that address the goals and objectives of the Foundation's grantmaking initiatives.

Littler Youth Fund (pdf form) (online application)
Grants to support projects of service to the youth of the community; youth related pilot projects or seed money to enable projects to demonstrate their potential; and emergency funding for youth needs. Preference will be given to organizations who are first time applicants. *Please note: the June 30, 2011 deadline will be specifically for Littler Youth Fund Teacher Mini-Grants.

Littler Youth Fund Operating Grants (pdf form) (online application)

Operational grants are available from the Littler Youth Fund for youth-oriented organizations demonstrating solid management despite the recent economic downturn. Organizations who demonstrate keen strategic thinking about their current capacity, and contingency plans for conducting their business in an uncertain economic climate have the best chance of being funded.

Littler Youth Fund Teacher Mini-Grants (pdf form) (online application)
Grants to aid in the development of effective teaching strategies and projects by Weld County teachers. Grants will be awarded to teachers who encourage and support experiential learning, enhance student understanding and increase student achievement. *In order to be fair, the Community Foundation instituted a “two-year rule” requiring that a project which receives funding for two successive years take one year off before reapplying.

Arts Alive! Organizational Grants (pdf form) (online application)
Grants to support special interest projects in the visual, performing and literary arts, specifically for non-operational purposes.

Grants to support emerging artists in Weld County take the next step in their artistic development. Granting cycles for 2011 have been suspended until further notice.  Please check back for further details regarding 2012 deadlines.

Norm and Marty Noe Family Leadership Incentive Grants (pdf form) (online application)

Grants to provide assistance for Weld County youth to attend leadership and other development programs.

Women's Fund of Weld County
Funding priority is focused programming for girls and women and their economic self-sufficiency and self-esteem. Within that priority, the Women's Fund concentrates its funding in two strategic areas: girls' futures; and girls' and women's education, employment, training and self-development. Deadline for submission is September 1, 2011.
