| Free Financial Sustainability Workshop |
|
The Community Foundation is hosting a free workshop for individuals currently serving on the boards of nonprofit organizations, executive directors and those interested in joining a nonprofit board. Money Matters: The Board’s Role in Nonprofit Financial Sustainability will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Horace C. Elliott Center (909 54th Avenue, Greeley). Lunch will be provided.
The workshop, presented by nonprofit consultant Martha Vail, will focus on the money matters board members need to know: characteristics of a financially sound nonprofit business; practices that promote a healthy bottom line; the board’s role in limiting risk and in monitoring financial performance; and how to partner with staff and/or vendors who manage your organization’s money. The workshop will also explore ways that your board can use financial data more effectively in making strategic decisions, so that financial foresight becomes as important as financial oversight.
To reserve a spot, please contact Lauren Weber at (970) 304-9970 or lauren@cfsgwc.org by March 2, 2012. Visit our website for more information about this and other upcoming workshops. |
