UNC/El Pomar Scholar Narratives

The Community Foundation has been involved in a project with three El Pomar Foundation Scholars.  These students, who are all currently attending the University of Northern Colorado, are part of the El Pomar Foundation's Student Leadership Experience (SLE) Program.  The SLE program provides selected Colorado college students with an understanding of community development and the nonprofit sector, creating a cross-campus network of trained public servants. The students chose the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County to gain more understanding of the role we play in the community.

The philanthropic project the students were assigned was to help increase awareness of what the Community Foundation does by telling "stories" about our work. The students were given the task of interviewing several Community Foundation donors, grantees, scholarship recipients and fund representatives to find out how the Community Foundation has worked with each of them.

Here's what they came up with.  The following articles were written by the El Pomar SLE program students:

A Woman's Place

Chelsea Danielson - Scholarship Recipient

Honor Flight Northern Colorado

Migrant Christmas Fiesta

Union Colony Children's Music Academy

Weld Food Bank Backpack Program

Windsor Community Foundation
