CommUnity: Nonprofit Trainings

The Community Foundation is dedicated to providing ongoing trainings in Weld County for nonprofit organizations and community members. The CommUnity series offers workshops on popular topics such as grant writing, marketing, development, and governance. They are designed to help nonprofit organizations build capacity so they can better serve the community.

2019 Nonprofit Governance Training Series

The Nonprofit Governance Training Series is designed to provide nonprofit leaders, both Board and staff with solid proven concepts for developing a great governing board. The series consists of six separate presentations all of which will be from 11:00am – 1:00 pm at the FMS Bank Community Room.

How to Recruit High Powered Board Members – January 15th

Great governing boards are comprised of great board members. This training identifies the characteristic of high-powered volunteers and what draws them to organizations. It will also provide a powerful, intentional recruitment strategy.

How to Build a Solid Foundation – February 19th

Great governing boards are built on a solid foundation. This training identifies how to establish a strong foundation that sets the stage for great governance. It will also incorporate some of the governance best practice suggestions from the Principles and Practices book.

Great governing boards need the right information to govern effectively. This training identifies the right information to provide your governing board to enable them to fulfill their responsibility for financial oversight without getting lost in the details. Participants receive many simple examples of how to provide meaningful financial reports to their board.
