CommUnity: Board Basics 101

Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - 9:30am to 1:30pm

As the governing board for a 501c3 organization, non-profit board members are responsible for adhering to legal standards and ethical norms. This session will focus on the critical aspects of serving on a nonprofit Board of Directors and will help each participant to better understand the roles and responsibilities that board members play when compared to the role of their organization's Executive Director.

The half-day session will also include a discussion of the following board member responsibilities: fiduciary, legal, financial, policy, personnel, public relations, fundraising and program evaluation. Content will be presented by instructor Nancy D'Albergaria, a trainer and educator with more than 30 years of experience in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and customer service at a variety of organizations in Northern Colorado. She has facilitated board and staff retreats and has served as a board member or staff member of a variety of Northern Colorado non-profit organizations. Nancy is the owner of Giraffe Consulting and Training LLC.

This FREE session will be a good training for new board members and a great refresher course for current board members. Participation includes a full lunch and training materials.
